You Talkin' to Me?

Following our monthly SLDS (Salt Lake Dining Society) gathering in Park City, we stopped in to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory where Amelia devoured some bubble gum ice cream.  A word of warning here - don't mess with this tough girl when she's got an ice cream cone in her hand...

Bad Mommy

So not too long ago, I had a "bad mommy day".  Not only were my daughter's toes peeping out of her pajamas because she is now too big for them (and which she was wearing most of the day) but she also fell asleep in her high chair following a meal.  Note: Amelia moved from one pair of PJs to the next without hope of daytime attire from mom.  However, and for the record, we did NOT leave the house.  Sheesh!  Even we bad mommies have standards!

Extra! Extra! Siamese Twins Spotted in Salt Lake Park!

With the onset of spring weather in Salt Lake, local residents couldn't help but get outside to enjoy the glorious sunshine.  Imagine their shock as they were greeted with Ame-oline and Car-elia, the elusive "Swingset Siamese Twins".  An actual photograph of them is indeed rare, and rivaled only by the Loch Ness Monster and Big Foot.  If you happen to come in contact with the "Swingset Siamese Twins", do not be afraid.  Legend has it that though they can be cranky around nap time, the Twins can be easily appeased with fruit, Cheetos, and Kool-Aid Squeezers.

A shot of Ame-oline happy as can be.  Could it be that she isn't even aware that they are stuck together?
Here we see Car-elia, not at all slowed down by the extra weight on the swing.
In the Twins' entourage, we also observe Amanda Jane, happy as a clam and completely unaware that her play day in the park has made headlines!

Hey, can I have your autograph?

The Video Games Live tour stopped in Salt Lake at the end of March and David was invited to the show as someone "in the industry" and given VIP status.  Along with being allowed to sign the game console traveling all over the country with the tour (seen above), he...

was asked to stick around after the show and sign autographs!  The line was super long and full of video game "nerds" (I mean that in the most loving sense, of course), including several dressed as characters from games.  No, really.

A Very Happy Un-Birthday to you.

When I was a kid, I loved the Mad Hatter's Teacups at Disneyland.  My Disney memories are full of my mother spinning our teacup so fast, I thought I'd lose my lunch.  Happily, the tradition of making your child vomit in our family continues...  Good times.

The Happiest Place on Earth!

When the Kennedys do Disney, we do it BIG!  Invitations were extended to some of our closest friends to meet up with us at Disneyland and take advantage of some of the amazing perks of just being our friends (AKA Dave's company perks).  Truth be told, we weren't complete without a few families that bowed out for various reasons... like a little old trip to Hawaii.  Sheesh.  But we pushed on bravely.  It was an amazing week full of Disney magic, the California sunshine, cinnamon-y churros, and cupcake espionage.

We met the Hatch Family for dinner in Downtown Disney and caught up on all the latest - including meeting Carson, their newest addition.

We like to believe that we turned the Mays into Disney-lovers after having proclaimed that they would never set foot inside the park.  (I may be exaggerating that story a bit...)

We facilitated the introduction of the Fyans Family to Alice and the Mad Hatter, which fascinated baby Davis.

We let Amelia pull Minnie's ears even though mommy said, "no".

And, we let the Mosses get the very last photo with Cinderella before her big performance onstage at Disney's California Adventure.
We can try to take credit for all of the fun this trip brought, but really, it was all the magic of Disney.  This quickly turned into our annual trip with friends!  Mark your calendars now for February 2009!  See ya' real soon, Mickey!

California girl

Let's see.  Catching up a bit...
February found Amelia visiting Grandpa John and Grandma Lora, Uncle Bill and Aunt Jenn, and Great-Grandma Rheta, Uncle Kyle, Aunt Heather, and cousins Noelle and Jackson in California and loving every bit of the attention.

Amelia also made the rounds to many of daddy and mommy's Fresno friends.

She was a superstar on the airplane.  No crying for this tiny traveler!  (But saying goodbye to Grandma at the airport really was hard.  No really.  Try to ignore the grin.)
